UCA AT 100 This school year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of UCA in 1907. Obviously, this gives everyone ever connected with the school an opportunity to celebrate. It is a particularly satisfying time for our current students as we will hold the first graduation since the school's closing in 1983. GRADUATION DAY--SATURDAY, JUNE 30, 2007 The class of 2007 will be recognized and honored on June 30th (tentative). Confirmed details about the graduation and events leading up to this celebration will be forthcoming. ACCREDITATION--MIDDLE STATES ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES AND SCHOOLS This past June, UCA was awarded "CANDIDACY STATUS" in the accreditation process by the Middle States Association. As a result, the faculty is conducting a full "self-study" on all aspects of the school and its programs. This study will culminate in the development of a long-range plan for the school's continued growth and improvement. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION Every year, UCA students and faculty celebrate the independence of Lebanon with a school-wide assembly and program in the morning. Secondary students have an information contest related to Independence day events, and write and recite poetry. This is an important day on our calendar given the events of the past couple of years. ARABIC BOOK FAIR--DECEMBER 13-14-15 UCA will host an Arabic/French Book Fair on December 14-15 on campus. The fair will be open from 9:00 to 3:00 each day. ELEMENTARY & SECONDARY students will be visiting the fair while in their Arabic classes on these two days. Students will need to bring some money with them on these days to make purchases. LL 5,000--20,000 should be sufficient. There will be a very nice selection of books that will be available at all levels of proficiency. Parents are also invited to stop by and make purchases. Books make nice gifts during the holidays. |
